Active Birth Yoga For Pregnant Women

When you practise Active Birth yoga you will strengthen your body and gain confidence in preparing for birth. You will learn how to relieve stress, with breathing and relaxation included in every class. The exercises improve your posture and circulation and can help reduce the strains of pregnancy. The classes give you a general sense of well being and an increase in confidence as you approach the birth of your baby.

The exercises are gentle, safe and easy to follow, and are suitable for any stage of pregnancy.

The class consists of 1½ hours of yoga, breathing and relaxation. This will include some work on positions and breathing for labour. There is then ½ an hour of refreshments, during which we may discuss a particular birth-related topic, a woman may return with her baby to tell us her birth story, or we may simply socialise.

In preparing for birth I feel that it is important to educate both your body and mind, so that the yoga classes and the birth preparation courses are complementary to one another.
